How to receive a healing: 1. Repent of your sins, ask God to forgive you of your sins and invite Christ into your live to lead and guide you. 2. Romans 10:17, tells us that faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God. 3. To help us believe God for healing ourselves, our friends and our families it helps to have a good grasp of the Scriptures concerning healing. (see below) 4. Write these verses down and memorized them and apply them to your life every day. Old Testament 1. Exodus 15:26 (amp), 26. saying, “If you will diligently listen and pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep [foremost in your thoughts and actively obey] all His precepts and statutes, then I will not put on you any of the diseases which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”2. Exodus 23:25 (amp), 25. You shall serve [only] the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread and water. I will also remove sickness from among you. 3. Deuteronomy 7:15 (amp), 15.The Lord will take away from you all sickness; and He will not subject you to any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will impose them on all [those] who hate you. 4. Deuteronomy 32:39 (amp), 39.‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and I who give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from [the power of] My hand. 5. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (amp), 14. and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. 6. Job 4:3-4, 3.Behold, you have admonished and instructed many, And you have strengthened weak hands. Your words have helped the one who was stumbling to stand, and you have strengthened feeble knees. 7. Psalms 3:5 (amp), 5.I lay down and slept [safely]; I awakened, for the Lord sustains me. 8. Psalms 6:2 (amp), 2.Have mercy on me and be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am weak (faint, frail); Heal me, O Lord, for my bones are dismayed and anguished. 9. Psalms 25: 17-18 (amp), 17.The troubles of my heart are multiplied; Bring me out of my distresses. 18.Look upon my affliction and my trouble, And forgive all my sins. 10. Psalm 27:14 (amp), 14.Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord. 11. Psalms 28: 7 (amp), 7.The LORD is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him. 12. Psalms 30:2-3 (amp), 2.O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me. 3.O Lord, You have brought my life up from Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead); You have kept me alive, so that I would not go down to the pit (grave). 13. Psalms 31: 24 (amp), 24.Be strong and let your hearts take courage, All you who wait for and confidently expect the LORD. 14. Psalms 34:19 (amp), 19.Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all. 15. Psalms 41:1-3 (amp), 1.Blessed [by God’s grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him in the day of trouble. 2.The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; And he will be called blessed in the land; You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies. 3. The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed; In his illness, You will restore him to health. 16. Psalms 42:11 (esv), 11.Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. 17. Psalms 55: 22 (amp), 22.Cast your burden on the LORD [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail) 18. Psalms 91: 1-8 (amp), Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord. 1.He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. 2.I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” 3.For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. 4.He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. 5.You will not be afraid of the terror of night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6.Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon. 7.A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But danger will not come near you. 8.You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes And witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High]. 19. Psalms 103:1-4 (NKJV), 1.Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2.Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3.Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4.Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 20. Psalms 107:19-21 (amp), 19.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them from their distresses. 20.He sent His word and healed them, And rescued them from their destruction. 21.Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His wonderful acts to the children of men! 21. Psalms 147:3 (amp), 3.He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 22. Proverbs 3:7-8 (amp), 7.Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. 23. Proverbs 4:20-22 (amp), 20.My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. 21.Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. 22.For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh. 24. Proverbs 16: 24 (amp), 24.Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. 25. Proverbs 17: 22 (amp), 22.A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, But a broken spirit dries up the bones. 26. Isaiah 40: 29 (amp), 29.He gives strength to the weary, And to him who has no might He increases power. 27. Isaiah 53:4-5 (amp), 4.But [in fact] He has borne our griefs, And He has carried our sorrows and pains; Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken, Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. 5.But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. 28. Isaiah 58:6-11 (amp), 6.“[Rather] is this not the fast which I choose, To undo the bonds of wickedness, To tear to pieces the ropes of the yoke, To let the oppressed go free And break apart every [enslaving] yoke? 7.“Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not to hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood? 8.“Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your healing (restoration, new life) will quickly spring forth; Your righteousness will go before you [leading you to peace and prosperity], The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. 9.“Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away from your midst the yoke [of oppression], The finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and [every form of] wicked (sinful, unjust) speech, 10.And if you offer yourself to [assist] the hungry And satisfy the [a]need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. 11.“And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your soul in scorched and dry places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. 29. Isaiah 61:1 (amp), Exaltation of the Afflicted 1.The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed and commissioned me To bring good news to the humble and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up [the wounds of] the brokenhearted, To proclaim release [from confinement and condemnation] to the [physical and spiritual] captives And freedom to prisoners, 2.To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance and retribution of our God, To comfort all who mourn, 3.To grant to those who mourn in Zion the following: To give them a turban instead of dust [on their heads, a sign of mourning], The oil of joy instead of mourning, The garment [expressive] of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called the trees of righteousness [strong and magnificent, distinguished for integrity, justice, and right standing with God], The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. 4.Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, They will raise up and restore the former desolations; And they will renew the ruined cities, The desolations (deserted settlements) of many generations.5.Strangers will stand and feed your flocks, And foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers. 6.But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; People will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, And you will boast of their riches. 7.Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion; And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; Everlasting joy will be theirs. 8.For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery with a burnt offering. And I will faithfully reward them, And make an everlasting covenant with them. 9.Then their offspring will be known among the nations, And their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge them That they are the people whom the Lord has blessed. 10.I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has covered me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom puts on a turban, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11.For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, And as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, So the Lord God will [most certainly] cause righteousness and justice and praise To spring up before all the nations [through the power of His word]. 30. Jeremiah 3:22 (amp), 22.“Return, O faithless sons,” [says the Lord], “I will heal your unfaithfulness.” [They answer] “Behold, we come to You, For You are the Lord our God. 31. Jeremiah 17:14 (amp), 14.Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise. 32. Jeremiah 30:15-22 (amp), 15.‘Why do you cry out over your injury [since it is the natural result of your sin]? Your pain is incurable (deadly). Because your guilt is great And your sins are glaring and numerable, I have done these things to you. 16.‘Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who plunder you will become plunder, And all who prey upon you I will give for prey. 17.‘For I will restore health to you And I will heal your wounds,’ says the Lord, ‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying: “This is Zion; no one seeks her and no one cares for her.”’ Restoration of Jacob 18.“Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold (hear this), I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob And have mercy on his dwelling places; The city will be rebuilt on its [old, mound-like] ruin, And the palace will stand on its rightful place. 19.‘From them (city, palace) will come [songs of] thanksgiving And the voices of those who dance and celebrate. And I will multiply them and they will not be diminished [in number]; I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant. 20.‘Their children too will be as in former times, And their congregation will be established before Me; And I will punish all their oppressors. 21.‘Their prince will be one of them, And their ruler will come forward from among them. I will bring him near and he shall approach Me, For who is he who would have the boldness and would dare [on his own initiative] to risk his life to approach Me?’ says the Lord. 22.‘Then you shall be My people, And I will be your God.’” 33. Jeremiah 33:6 (amp), 6.'Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. 34. Hosea 14:1-5 (amp), 4.Israel’s Future Blessing 1.O Israel, return [in repentance] to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled and fallen [visited by tragedy], because of your sin. 2.Take the words [confessing your guilt] with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all our wickedness; Accept what is good and receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips (gratitude). 3.“Assyria will not save us; We will not ride on horses [relying on military might], Nor will we say again to [the idols who are] the work of our hands, ‘You are our gods.’ For in You [O Lord] the orphan finds love and compassion and mercy.” 4.I will heal their apostasy and faithlessness; I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from Israel. 5.I shall be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. 35. Malachi 4:2 (amp), 2.But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. New Testament 36. Matthew 4:23-24 (amp), Ministry in Galilee23.And He went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people [demonstrating and revealing that He was indeed the promised Messiah].24.So the news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were sick, those suffering with various diseases and pains, those under the power of demons, and epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. 37. Matthew 8:5-13 (amp), 5.As Jesus went into Capernaum, a centurion came up to Him, begging Him [for help], 6.and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, with intense and terrible, tormenting pain.” 7.Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8.But the centurion replied to Him, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9.For I also am a man subject to authority [of a higher rank], with soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” 10.When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following Him, “I tell you truthfully, I have not found such great faith [as this] with anyone in Israel. 11.I say to you that many [Gentiles] will come from east and west, and will sit down [to feast at the table, and enjoy God’s promises] with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven [because they accepted Me as Savior], 12.while the sons and heirs of the kingdom [the descendants of Abraham who will not recognize Me as Messiah] will be thrown out into the outer darkness; in that place [which is farthest removed from the kingdom] there will be weeping [in sorrow and pain] and grinding of teeth [in distress and anger].” 13.Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it will be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was restored to health at that very hour. 38. Matthew 8:16 (amp), 16.When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons; and He cast out the evil spirits with a word, and restored to health all who were sick [exhibiting His authority as Messiah], 39. Matthew 9:1-8 (amp), A Paralytic Healed 1.And Jesus, getting into a boat, crossed over the Sea of Galilee and came to [Capernaum] His own city. 2.They brought to Him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a stretcher. Seeing their [active] faith [springing from confidence in Him], Jesus said to the paralytic, “Do not be afraid, son; your sins are forgiven [the penalty is paid, the guilt removed, and you are declared to be in right standing with God].” 3.And some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man blasphemes [by claiming the rights and prerogatives of God]!” 4.But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5.For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven and the penalty paid,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? [Both are possible for God; both are impossible for man.] 6.But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority and the power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.” 7.And he got up and went home [healed and forgiven]. 8.When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God and praised Him, who had given such authority and power to men. 40. Matthew 9:21-22 (amp), 21.for she had been saying to herself, “If I only touch His outer robe, I will be healed.” 22.But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Take courage, daughter; your [personal trust and confident] faith [in Me] has made you well.” And at once the woman was [completely] healed. 41. Matthew 9:35 (amp), 35.Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 42. Matthew 10:1-10 (amp), The Twelve Disciples; Instructions for Service 1.Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority and power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. 2.Now these are the names of the twelve apostles (special messengers, personally chosen representatives): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3.Philip and Bartholomew (Nathanael); Thomas and Matthew (Levi) the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus (Judas, not Iscariot); 4.Simon the Cananaean (Zealot), and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him. 5.Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them: “Do not go among the Gentiles, and do not go into a city of the Samaritans; 6.but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7.And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8.Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. 9.Do not take gold, or silver, or [even] copper money in your money belt, 10. or a provision bag for your journey, or even two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker deserves his support. 43. Matthew 12:22 (amp), 22.Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 44. Matthew 14:14 (amp), 14.When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt [profound] compassion for them and healed their sick 45. Matthew 15:22-28, (amp), 22.And a Canaanite woman from that district came out and began to cry out [urgently], saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David (Messiah); my daughter is cruelly possessed by a demon.” 23.But He did not say a word in answer to her. And His disciples came and asked Him [repeatedly], “Send her away, because she keeps shouting out after us.” 24.He answered, “I was commissioned by God and sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25.But she came and began to kneel down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26.And He replied, “It is not good (appropriate, fair) to take the children’s bread and throw it to the pet dogs.” 27.She said, “Yes, Lord; but even the pet dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters’ table.” 28.Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in My power] is great; it will be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that moment. 46. Matthew 15:30 (amp), 30.And great crowds came to Him, bringing with them the lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they put them down at His feet; and He healed them. 47. Matthew 21:14, 14.Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 48. Mark 6:12-13 (amp), 12.So they went out and preached that men should repent [that is, think differently, recognize sin, turn away from it, and live changed lives]. 13.And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many who were sick, and healing them. 49. Mark 16:17-18 (amp), And these signs will follow those who believe: 17.These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues; 18.they will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.” 50. Luke 4:40 (amp), 40.While the sun was setting [marking the end of the Sabbath day], all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them [exhibiting His authority as Messiah]. 51. Luke 5:17 (amp), 17.One day as He was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present with Him to heal. 52. Luke 6:18-19 (amp), 18.who had come to listen to Him and to be healed of their diseases. Even those who were troubled by unclean spirits (demons) were being healed. 19.All the people were trying to touch Him, because [healing] power was coming from Him and healing them all. 53. Luke 8:47-48 (amp), 47.When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came up trembling and fell down before Him. She declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48.He said to her, “Daughter, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in Me] has made you well. Go in peace (untroubled, undisturbed well-being).” 54. Luke 9:1-6 (amp), The Ministry of the Twelve 1.Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. 2.Then He sent them out [on a brief journey] to preach the kingdom of God and to perform healing. 3.And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey [that might encumber you]—neither a walking stick, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece. 4.Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that city [to go to another]. 5.And as for all those who do not welcome you, when you leave that city, shake the dust off your feet [breaking all ties with them] as a testimony against them [that they rejected My message].” 6.So they began going from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing the sick everywhere. 55. Luke 9:10-11 (amp), 10.When the apostles returned, they told Him all that they had done. He took them with Him and He privately withdrew [across the Jordan] to a city called Bethsaida. 11. But when the crowds learned of it, they followed Him; and He welcomed them and He began talking to them about the kingdom of God, and healing those who needed to be healed. 56. Luke 10:8-9 (amp), Jesus sending out the seventy 8.Whenever you go into a city and they welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9.and heal those in it who are sick [authenticating your message], and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 57. Luke 10:17-20 (amp), 17.The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18.He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like [a flash of] lightning. 19.Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you. 20.Nevertheless do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” 58. Luke 10:25-28 (amp), 25.And a certain lawyer [an expert in Mosaic Law] stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26.Jesus said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27.And he replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” 28.Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this habitually and you will live.” 59. Luke 17:12-19 (amp), The story of the ten lepers 12.As He entered a village, He was met by ten lepers who stood at a distance; 13.and they raised their voices and called out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14.When He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were [miraculously] healed and made clean. 15.One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying and praising and honoring God with a loud voice; 16.and he lay face downward at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him [over and over]. He was a Samaritan. 17.Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten [of you] cleansed? Where are the [other] nine? 18.Was there no one found to return and to give thanks and praise to God, except this foreigner?” 19.Jesus said to him, “Get up and go [on your way]. Your faith [your personal trust in Me and your confidence in God’s power] has restored you to health.” (They did what Jesus told them to do. Have you done what Jesus is tell you to do?) 60. Acts 3:1-10 (amp), Healing the Lame Beggar 1.Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.), 2.and a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, so that he could beg alms from those entering the temple. 3.So when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking [them] for coins. 4.But Peter, along with John, stared at him intently and said, “Look at us!” 5.And the man began to pay attention to them, eagerly expecting to receive something from them. 6.But Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have; but what I do have I give to you: In the name (authority, power) of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—[begin now to] walk and go on walking!” 7.Then he seized the man’s right hand with a firm grip and raised him up. And at once his feet and ankles became strong and steady, 8.and with a leap he stood up and began to walk; and he went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9.All the people saw him walking and praising God; 10.and they recognized him as the very man who usually sat begging for coins at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement and were mystified at what had happened to him. 61. Acts 3:16 (amp), 16.And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health and complete wholeness in your presence. 63. Acts 4:29-31 (amp), 29.And now, Lord, observe their threats [take them into account] and grant that Your bond-servants may declare Your message [of salvation] with great confidence, 30.while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders (attesting miracles) take place through the name [and the authority and power] of Your holy Servant and Son Jesus.” 31.And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage. 64. Acts 5:16, 16.Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. 65. Acts 8:5-8 (amp), 5.Philip [the evangelist] went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) to them. 6.The crowds gathered and were paying close attention to everything Philip said, as they heard [the message] and saw the [miraculous] signs which he was doing [validating his message]. 7.For unclean spirits (demons), shouting loudly, were coming out of many who were possessed; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. 8.So there was great rejoicing in that city. 66. Acts 9:17-18 (amp), 17.So Ananias left and entered the house, and he laid his hands on Saul and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came [to Damascus], has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit [in order to proclaim Christ to both Jews and Gentiles].” 18.Immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized; 67. Acts 14:8-10 (amp), 8.Now at Lystra a man sat who was unable to use his feet, for he was crippled from birth and had never walked. 9.This man was listening to Paul as he spoke, and Paul looked intently at him and saw that he had faith to be healed, 10.and said with a loud voice, “Stand up on your feet.” And he jumped up and began to walk. 68. Acts 28:8-9 (amp), 8.And it happened that the father of Publius was sick [in bed] with recurring attacks of fever and dysentery; and Paul went to him, and after he had prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him. 9.After this occurred, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases were coming to him and being healed. 69. Romans 8:1-40 (amp), Escape from Bondage 1.Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. 2.For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3.For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son], 4.so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in the ways of the Spirit [guided by His power]. 5.For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. 6.Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; 7.the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, 8.and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God. 9.However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God]. 10.If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. 11.And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. 12.So then, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation, but not to our flesh [our human nature, our worldliness, our sinful capacity], to live according to the [impulses of the] flesh [our nature without the Holy Spirit]— 13.for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever. 14.For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15.For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!” 16.The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God. 17.And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory. 18.For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us! 19.For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed. 20.For the creation was subjected to frustration and futility, not willingly [because of some intentional fault on its part], but by the will of Him who subjected it, in hope 21.that the creation itself will also be freed from its bondage to decay [and gain entrance] into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22.For we know that the whole creation has been moaning together as in the pains of childbirth until now. 23.And not only this, but we too, who have the first fruits of the Spirit [a joyful indication of the blessings to come], even we groan inwardly, as we wait eagerly for [the sign of] our adoption as sons—the redemption and transformation of our body [at the resurrection]. 24.For in this hope we were saved [by faith]. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he already sees? 25.But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait eagerly for it with patience and composure. Our Victory in Christ 26.In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. 27.And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will. 28.And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. 29.For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers. 30.And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified [declared free of the guilt of sin]; and those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity]. 31.What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? 32.He who did not spare [even] His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? 33.Who will bring any charge against God’s elect (His chosen ones)? It is God who justifies us [declaring us blameless and putting us in a right relationship with Himself]. 34.Who is the one who condemns us? Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us. 35.Who shall ever separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36.Just as it is written and forever remains written, “For Your sake we are put to death all day long; We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.” 37.Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. 38.For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39.nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 70. Romans 8:11 (amp), 11.But if the Spirit of Him (God) who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 71. 1 Corinthians 6:14-20 (amp), 14.And God has not only raised the Lord [to life], but will also raise us up by His power. 15.Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Am I therefore to take the members of Christ and make them part of a prostitute? Certainly not! 16.Do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “The two shall be one flesh.” 17.But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18.Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. 19.Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? 20.You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body. 72. 1 Corinthians 11:29-31, 21. 73. 1 Corinthians 12:1-30 (amp), The Use of Spiritual Gifts is available to all Believers, with training 1.Now about the spiritual gifts [the special endowments given by the Holy Spirit], brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2.You know that when you were pagans, you were led off after speechless idols; however, you were led off [whether by impulse or habit]. 3.Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is [my] Lord,” except by [the power and influence of] the Holy Spirit. 4.Now there are [distinctive] varieties of spiritual gifts [special abilities given by the grace and extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit operating in believers], but it is the same Spirit [who grants them and empowers believers]. 5.And there are [distinctive] varieties of ministries and service, but it is the same Lord [who is served]. 6.And there are [distinctive] ways of working [to accomplish things], but it is the same God who produces all things in all believers [inspiring, energizing, and empowering them]. 7.But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit [the spiritual illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] for the common good. 8.To one is given through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] the message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] the word of knowledge and understanding according to the same Spirit; 9.to another [wonder-working] faith [is given] by the same [Holy] Spirit, and to another the [extraordinary] gifts of healings by the one Spirit; 10.and to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues. 11.All these things [the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering] are brought about by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, distributing to each one individually just as He chooses. 12.For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ. 13.For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]. 14.For the [human] body does not consist of one part, but of many [limbs and organs]. 15.If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” is it not on the contrary still a part of the body? 16.If the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” is it not on the contrary still a part of the body? 17.If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole [body] were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18.But now [as things really are], God has placed and arranged the parts in the body, each one of them, just as He willed and saw fit [with the best balance of function]. 19.If they all were a single organ, where would [the rest of] the body be? 20.But now [as things really are] there are many parts [different limbs and organs], but a single body. 21.The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22.But quite the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are [absolutely] necessary; 23.and as for those parts of the body which we consider less honorable, these we treat with greater honor; and our less presentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24.while our more presentable parts do not require it. But God has combined the [whole] body, giving greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25.so that there would be no division or discord in the body [that is, lack of adaptation of the parts to each other], but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. 26.And if one member suffers, all the parts share the suffering; if one member is honored, all rejoice with it. 27.Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body, and individually [you are] members of it [each with his own special purpose and function]. 28.So God has appointed and placed in the church [for His own use]: first apostles [chosen by Christ], second prophets [those who foretell the future, those who speak a new message from God to the people], third teachers, then those who work miracles, then those with the gifts of healings, the helpers, the administrators, and speakers in various kinds of [unknown] tongues. 29.Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30.Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 74. 2 Corinthians 1:8-11 (amp), 8.For we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about our trouble in [the west coast province of] Asia [Minor], how we were utterly weighed down, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life [itself]. 9.Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death [and were convinced that we would die, but this happened] so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead. 10.He rescued us from so great a threat of death, and will continue to rescue us.
